The perfect coffee experience – 5 tips

News

Your coffee only really tastes good when it’s properly brewed. We will give you 5 simple tips to perfect the quality of your cup of coffee:

Warm the cup

It is best to warm your cup before pouring your coffee. This makes the taste tastier and keeps your coffee hot longer. Some coffee makers have a heating function on top of the machine for this purpose. Don’t have this feature? Then rinse your cup with hot water first. This has the same effect.

Stir, stir, stir

This may seem obvious, but your coffee tastes best when stirred properly. Stirring distributes the aromas well and brings out the character of the coffee better. A pre-heated spoon also keeps your coffee from cooling further.

Fresh water every day

Your coffee can be great; water is the largest component (98%) and thus strongly influences the taste of your cup of coffee. We therefore recommend using fresh water every day. Dutch tap water is of good quality and thus fine to use. Do let the tap run for a while before you tap the water!

Storing coffee properly

Freshness is essential for a great cup of coffee. The pure taste is in danger of being lost when coffee is exposed too much to air, light, moisture, and heat. So our tip is to keep coffee (tightly sealed) in its bag. If necessary, store it in a can or tin that can be sealed airtight.

Whole milk for perfect milk foam

Want to make a cappuccino? Use fresh, cold milk from the refrigerator for this. Whole milk has more fat, which makes the taste creamier. In addition, it foams up better. When frothing, it is important not to let the temperature exceed 70 degrees. Good frothed milk can be recognized by small bubbles.
