ORGANIC Espresso Peru

Panpipes emerged from the 4th millennium BC. The enchantingly sounding panpipes from the Andes are particularly well-known. The Peruvian sounds take us into the world of the Incas and go wonderfully with the aromatic, mostly hand-picked espresso from Peru.

Peru is now one of the world's largest coffee-growing countries. Coffee cultivation in this South American country was still unusual up until the middle of the 20th century.

Ideal climate and soil conditions characterize the coffee extraordinarily. It grows cautiously in the highlands of the Andes. The coffee farmers pick, mostly by hand , only the ripe coffee cherries and then dry them in the sun. Numerous small farmers dedicate themselves to the cultivation of the dark bean in forests.

Martermühle Bio Peru Espresso: Organic farming

Peru is one of the largest producers of organic coffee . The Chanchamayo growing region in particular is one of the best growing areas for coffee. It is in the northeast near the Bolivian border. The cultivation takes place in a nature-friendly manner and is characterized in particular by the following points:

  • Use of natural fertilizers (e.g. cow dung) instead of chemicals
  • Pest control using beneficial insects without the use of pesticides
  • Safety through controls and guidelines for the consumer

The organic cultivation has a very positive effect on the organic espresso . No harmful residues remain in the coffee beans and soil.

When the coffee arrives, we roast it gently and aromatically At low temperatures and over a longer period of time than is usual with conventional coffee. This gives the organic espresso a mild taste. It releases fewer acids and bitter substances during the roasting process.

Basic character of the organic Peru espresso:

Organic cultivation, handpicked harvest and optimal climatic conditions. These factors give the organic espresso its incomparably mild and soft aroma. In addition, the organic espresso from Peru is characterized by a strong and round taste.

A fine, medium-bodied espresso with a complex, subtle play of aromas. Espresso connoisseurs will be delighted by the strong and at the same time fine taste and its pronounced fullness.
