By now we know it well: coffee has many beneficial properties for our body. But did you know that its use is also common in cosmetics? In fact, its characteristics make it ideal for making body scrubs as well as eye creams and face masks.

Today we want to suggest a recipe to prepare the perfect DIY coffee lip balm.

Cosmetic properties of coffee

One of the main actions performed by caffeine is slimming. This is why it is used in the creation of creams and ointments designed specifically to treat cellulite blemishes.

But coffee is also a panacea for hair: on the one hand, it gives radiance, and on the other, it stimulates microcirculation by reactivating the scalp and reducing free radicals.

And it doesn't end there. Many coffee dyes have been shown to be effective at naturally covering white hair. Try to believe it!

Preparing DIY coffee lip balm

What we expect from a good lip balm, then, is that it performs an emollient and stimulating action. For the recipe, we will use some essential oils, which are also easily available online. Let's see how to prepare it.

Ingredients

  • infusion of olive oil and coffee, 30 g.
  • Refined cocoa butter, 15 gr.
  • Shea butter, 15 gr.
  • Beeswax flakes, 7 gr.
  • 10 drops of clove essential oil.
  • 1-2 ml of coffee-flavored oil.
  • 120 gr vegetable olive oil (almond, olive, jojoba, coconut).

Preparation

First, let's prepare the infusion of olive oil and coffee. In a coffee pot pour 3 tablespoons of coffee and prepare it as usual. When the preparation is complete, take the grounds and pour them into 120 g of olive oil. Cook everything in a small saucepan in a bain-marie for 15 minutes over low heat. Then turn off and strain.

Meanwhile, use the microwave to melt the beeswax along with the cocoa butter. Alternatively, you can melt them in a double boiler. Then add the shea butter and repeat the process. Now add a pinch of salt, mix and add the infusion prepared earlier.

Now combine the clove essential oil and the aromatic oil drop by drop. Let everything cool completely. Ideally, you should get small metal boxes in which to pour the mixture and let it sit.

With a colorful ribbon, they can also become nice gift ideas for your friends.
