IBRIK

Turkish coffee is one of the oldest and still widespread methods of coffee extraction throughout the Arab world. A blend of coffee with an intense and unmistakable aroma like this finely ground with a stone grinder that can make the powder impalpable. To this is added: water, sugar, and spices to taste (cardamom or cinnamon) before being placed on a heat source.

For the preparation:

  • we recommend using a coffee/water ratio of 1:10 (one part of coffee and ten parts of water). Pour the water into the Ibrik with the sugar and the coffee.
  • at this point, we place the ibrik on a source of heat (the hot sand of the desert, as in Arab countries?) and once the temperature approaches boiling, the coffee will tend to rise, creating the cream.
  • it's time to serve it in the cups and wait for the funds to settle

With its truncated cone shape, this "pot" that comes directly from Eastern countries is designed to facilitate the boiling of the coffee and the creation of the unmistakable cream.
