Our Story
The story of Hinnerk`s Kaffee started in 2017 with an idea. Henrik Dreyer is the founder of Hinnerk`s Kaffee and wanted to produce a great coffee that comes from the middle of Hamburg.
In 2018 Henrik dared to take the step and founded Hinnerk`s Kaffee. The port of Hamburg has always been one of the largest transshipment ports for coffee in Europe. Our coffees come to the Hanseatic city from the highland mountains of distant countries. Out of love for the city, the sea, and coffee, the idea arose to create a Hanseatic product that combines the wanderlust of the sea and the love of our home port. Hinnerk's coffee is gently roasted in the drum roaster using an old craft. Our coffees come from family plantations or small cooperatives in the countries of origin. With every cup of Hinnerk's coffee, we support the smallholders from the origins. The plantations are run by family businesses. Hinnerk's coffee is available from around 50 retailers across Germany.
The founder
Henrik Dreyer was born in 1986 and lives with his family in Hamburg Altona. For many years he worked for large coffee companies and was able to get to know the coffee world. At some point, Henrik realized that he actually only had the coffee on paper. He lacked passion and instead of working with the product, numbers came more and more to the fore. In 2017 the idea came from the own coffee brand. In 2018 he followed his heart and founded Hinnerk`s Kaffee.
Our roast
We love great coffee. We roast our coffees according to an old craft, gently in the drum roaster. With a peak heat of approx. Our coffees roast between 11 and 15 minutes at 210 degrees. Due to the slow and gentle roasting, the aromas of our coffees can slowly develop. Long before Hinnerk`s Kaffee was founded, the search for our coffees began. Many coffees from different small plantations in different countries were tasted. Many different roasts were tried until we finally found the perfect bean for us.
The coffee tastes like home.
Every morning it is a pleasure when you carefully pour the hot water over the coffee grounds and the smell of fresh coffee spreads. Whether to get up, in the office, or as a wake-up call during shift work, our coffees have a great aroma.
