Blackberry White Chocolate Mocha recipe

Raspberries and white chocolate is a combination you often see, both in desserts and coffee drinks. Raspberries have an energy, sweet-sour taste that goes well with creamy white chocolate. However, this is not the only berry suitable for white chocolate. Strawberries, blueberries and blackberries all go well with white chocolate. In this case, we used blackberries to make a Blackberry White Chocolate Mocha . It's an unusual but delicious change from a raspberry drink, and it's especially good when the blackberry season kicks off.

This drink is made with fresh blackberry puree and white chocolate. You can puree your blackberries in a food processor and then drain it to separate the pulp and seeds from the fruit. This leaves you with a smooth, beautiful puree that you can add directly to your drink. We mixed the puree with the white chocolate (you may need to add a little extra sugar depending on how ripe the blackberries are) and then added hot coffee. The coffee is hot enough to melt the chocolate, so just let it sit for a few minutes before stirring to mix all the ingredients together and finally add the milk. You can use coffee or espresso, both will give good results.

If you want you can also add some blackberry marshmallows and these are best if you make them yourself, so that they also have a delicious fresh blackberry puree. We recommend making a nice amount, but instead you can use regular marshmallows or whipped cream and add a little puree left over for extra flavour.

Blackberry White Chocolate Mocha ingredients for 1 serving

  • 30 grams white chocolate, cut into large pieces
  • 2 tablespoons blackberry puree
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 180 ml hot coffee
  • 120 ml steamed milk
  • or 120 ml espresso and 180 ml steamed milk

Combine white chocolate, blackberry puree and sugar in a large mug. Add hot coffee (or espresso) to this and stir until the white chocolate has completely melted and all the ingredients are well mixed. Pour steamed milk over this. Serve with marshmallows or whipped cream.
