Coffee creamer, also known as "grandfather's coffee," is a mouthwatering variation of the classic drink. Very welcome in summer because it is served cold, but also a delicious dessert all year round: taste and texture are very reminiscent of a mousse.

In every variation, it is among the most popular recipes at every age, including the very young Generation Z, which is so attentive to coffee trends. If consuming it at the coffee shop is always a pleasure, preparing it at home can also be a tasty experience to savor.

How to make coffee creamer: the recipe

The real challenge is just that: how do you make coffee creamer at home as good as the one at the coffee shop? Let's discover together an easy-to-prepare recipe that is also perfect for delighting guests and looking great without too much effort.

Ingredients

Ingredients to prepare 4 servings of Granddad's coffee:

  • 2 cups of espresso, prepared with a full-bodied and intense blend to bring out the flavor of the coffee creamer. If you use mocha, the ideal is the Latina ground coffee blend, otherwise Intenso compatible capsules or Classic blend pods are fine.
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar.
  • 300 ml of fresh, strictly non-vegetable cream so as not to alter the taste of the coffee and spoil the final result.

Preparation of the coffee creamer

Let's start with the mocha or your preferred system's artful coffee preparation. We sugared the coffee and let it cool in the refrigerator. Now we whip the fresh cream with electric whips. Once it has reached a fairly creamy consistency, we slowly pour in the coffee, while at the same time continuing to whip the cream.

All that remains is to chill the coffee creamer in the refrigerator for up to two days or store it in the freezer and take it out for about ten minutes before consuming. To finish it off beautifully, decorate with bitter cocoa or coffee beans. Now we can enjoy delicious café coffee creamer—but homemade!

Homemade coffee creamer in a bottle

There is a quick shortcut, designed for those who want to enjoy grandpa's coffee but are not going to use whips. It's quicker to do than to say: simply mix cold coffee, sugar and cold cream from the fridge in a glass bottle and shake it all for 5 minutes. The bottled coffee creamer is already ready!

The variant with hazelnut cream

Cream not enough to satisfy the craving for a mouthwatering treat? We have the perfect Grandpa's coffee variant for you: when you make the coffee, add a couple of teaspoons of hazelnut cream, melting it for good with the still hot drink. A treat all to enjoy!
