COFFEE BEANS BURUNDI
Very aromatic and pleasantly tangy coffee, moderate in body and not long in the mouth, with lovely fruity and woody, sometimes animal notes.
In the northeast of Burundi, near the town of Kayanza, the federation with which we work brings together several Fairtrade certified coffee cooperatives. Malongo supports the production of this excellent bourbon arabica on site, grown on fertile clay laterite soil, by small producers.
The local structures are relatively well organised, precise and attentive to the manufacturing process (stripping, drying). Each cooperative has its own washing center. The country's climate is very favorable to the cultivation of coffee, the main national resource, representing 80% of exports.
