Simply a good idea: Ralf Meyer and Christian Kohlhof found chicco di caffè. In the beginning there was a passion for specialty coffee and a simple and ingenious idea: Employees should be able to exchange ideas in a pleasant atmosphere during their work breaks and enjoy first-class coffee together.
In 2019 as part of Intertek's Workplace Conditions Assessment, chicco di caffè receives the Achievement Award for exemplary working conditions, occupational safety precautions, health promotion measures and environmental protection.
COFFEE ORIGIN
Typical chicco di caffè: With us, green coffee from ten countries is first roasted by variety, then thoroughly mixed and tastefully completed in numerous tastings – a difference you can taste. Good coffee starts with good coffee beans. And the ripe beans for chicco di caffè are still carefully picked by hand in Peru, Brazil and India as well as the high altitudes of Colombia, Guatemala and Costa Rica. The hand-picked green coffee comes to the south of Munich via Hamburg. In our own roastery, it is roasted in a varietal and gentle way. We give the coffee time and give it all our attention: In the traditional drum roasting process, we constantly check the temperature, humidity, color and density of the beans. This is how the best coffee beans with love, passion and knowledge become our chicco di caffè espresso and coffee blends.
