Torrefazione Monforte SRL was founded in 1999 with the aim of creating Espresso coffee blends with an unmistakable taste and aroma.
To achieve this goal, our Master Roaster, Magda Katsoura, who graduated in Botany, personally visits the coffee plantations to taste and select the best raw materials to use, thanks to her wealth of knowledge and experience.
OUR ROASTING PROCESS
We make the precious Caffè Monforte blends in a certified roasting plant located in the heart of Italy, in Molise, an area free of atmospheric pollution and dry climate, highly significant factors for the roasting of raw coffee.
Our wide range of products includes blends of coffee beans, ground, pods and capsules, available in different formats, created according to the needs of the numerous international markets on which we have been operating for over twenty years.
Today, ours is one of the most innovative roasting companies in Europe from a technological and environmental point of view, working in compliance with ethical codes in support of plantation growers, the ecosystem and world biodiversity.
Furthermore, since its foundation, Torrefazione Monforte has collaborated with the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Molise on issues of scientific interest and eco-sustainability.
Our roasting machines incorporate latest generation technology capable of ensuring a perfectly controlled roasting process by electronic and digital systems; to reduce the emissions of gases and volatile polluting particles into the atmosphere, thanks to the double filtering of the fumes produced by roasting; and to save energy thanks to the reuse of hot filtered air to keep the temperature inside the drum of the roaster constant.
To ensure high quality standards, our production process involves three stages of selection of foreign bodies:
- the first is performed at the beginning of the production process and eliminates foreign bodies from green coffee;
- the second selection is made by the roasting machine itself during roasting, by means of magnets that hold any metal bodies;
- the third selection occurs at the end of the roasting process and before packaging, when the roasted coffee has been screened by an optical sorter.
OUR COFFEE TYPES
The warehouse of the raw materials of Torrefazione Monforte is stocked with over 18 different origins of green coffee of the Arabica and Robusta type, conventional and organic, coming from rigorously selected plantations in Central America, Africa and Asia.
This allows us to satisfy the finest palates of coffee lovers from all over the world, creating ad-hoc blends with unmistakable characteristics for the different extractions in the cup, such as the Espresso machine, moka, Ibrik and filter.

The 6 packaging systems allow us to meet the multiple demands of the world market and offer diversified packs capable of keeping the organoleptic characteristics of coffee beans, ground, pod and capsule blends intact, thanks to vacuum and protective atmosphere packaging.
