Easy recipes for best alcoholic coffee drinks

Coffee is a highly versatile ingredient: it is perfect when tasted alone, lends itself well to creative recipes, and can even be used as a beauty treatment. Its importance also reaches the world of mixology, which for decades has found in it a perfect ally for the preparation of refined and timeless drinks. Prepare your shakers: today we explain how to prepare the most famous coffee cocktails!

Espresso Martini

There are many stories about this cocktail origin. The most popular is the inventor of London bartender Dick Bradsell, who created the drink in the late 1980s for a model who wanted a strong drink but would wake her up. Are you coming to impress? By adding coffee to a classic vodka!

Espresso Martini recipe:

  • 5 cl Vodka
  •  5cl Sugar syrup
  •  1 cl of Kahlua
  •  1 Restricted Espresso

Pour all the ingredients and the ice, shake and strain directly into a very cold cocktail glass.

Irish coffee

The author of this cocktail is Irish Joe Sheridan. Head bartender at Shannon Airport (Ireland), he invented this drink in 1930 to make the classic Irish mix of whiskey and hot tea more appealing to American travelers. Subsequently, sugar and milk cream was added to the cocktail, thus transforming it into an after-dinner dessert to be enjoyed on the plane.

Irish Coffee recipe:

  • 3cl Irish whiskey
  • 3 cl fresh milk cream
  • 6cl espresso coffee
  • 1 teaspoon of brown sugar

Prepare the cocktail directly in the glass, already heated. Pour sugar, whiskey, and coffee in sequence, mixing everything together. At this point add the milk cream to the surface. The choice of coffee is fundamental: for Irish Coffee, a blend with a full flavor and not too sweet is recommended.

Black Russian

The first appearance of this coffee cocktail dates back to 1949: Gustave Tops served it for the first time at the Hotel Metropole in Brussels, in honor of the American ambassador to Belgium. This drink has dozens of variations, among which the White Russian and the Dirty Russian, long drink with the addition of cola, stand out for fame. Vodka is obviously fundamental.

Black Russian recipe:

  • 5 cl Vodka
  • 5 cl coffee liqueur (eg Dercaffè)

Pour into an old fashion glass already filled with ice, stirring gently.

Negroni Macchiato

Who doesn't know the Classic Negroni? Perhaps none, since it is an aperitif appreciated all over the world, like the famous Italian cocktail Bellini.

People love everything about the Negroni, even its variants, such as the Negroni Sbagliato, corrected with brut sparkling wine instead of gin, which has now entered the common language of mixology. Among the most renowned coffee-based cocktails such as Irish Coffee, Black Russian, White Russian, Alexander, and Espresso Martini, Negroni Macchiato stands out for taste and liking, the nice variant of the classic cocktail based on coffee.

An easy cocktail to prepare at home, so arm yourself with all the ingredients, but above all with good company and try your hand at creating this special drink!

The Negroni Macchiato recipe:

  • 3 cl of Gin
  • 3 cl of Campari bitters
  • 3 cl of red vermouth
  • 1/2 espresso coffee
  • a slice of orange for garnish
  • ice q. B.

The preparation of Negroni Macchiato is simple, just put the ice in a large glass and pour all the ingredients, mix gently and garnish with a slice of orange!

Coffee is fashionable and trendy, cleared by the concept of traditional Italian drink, today it is the protagonist of cosmetic lines and daring dishes created by starred chefs. In this context of evolution, even the world of mixology has found in coffee a perfect ally in the preparation of elegant drinks that meet the taste of almost all people, since the flavor of coffee is an attribute encoded with the Italian culture.

Espresso Tonic

Espresso Tonic is an original cocktail with a particular taste, born in 2016 in the USA but becoming fashionable in the spring of 2017 all over the world. Making it is really simple and it only takes a few minutes: tonic water (or brilliant water) ice and coffee are enough!

Espresso Tonic recipe:

  • 1 cup of double Espresso
  • 200 ml of tonic water
  • 1 lime wedge
  • 4-5 ice cubes

First, place the ice cubes in the glass and, immediately after, pour in the tonic water. Then, prepare a cup of double espresso and pour it entirely into the glass.  As the last step to make your coffee and tonic, take the lime wedge and pass it around the edge of the glass. Here is your Espresso Tonic, ready to be enjoyed!
